OUR VISION

Spor av Nord is an unpretentious place with a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Our ambition is to be a location where people who live and work nearby, or visit Kvadraturen, want to come by for simple and nutritious breakfast, lunch or light meals, or just to grab a cup or a glass in passing. We are open from early morning until late at night.

 

Møsbrømlefse, a traditional Norwegian pastry from Salten, is our signature dish. Casseroles, soups and simple dishes based on local vegetables or seafood are central. We serve fine and carefully chosen wines, real champagne and beer from Bådin in Bodø. There is a lot of good non-alcoholic options too, including products from the Norwegian company Leske. We have acquired a renovated La Marzocco, and with this we brew coffee from Bønner i Byen, a standalone coffee distillery established in 2013 by coffee enthusiasts in the north.

 

We have a collaboration with the Oslo-based company Spill the Tea, and serve their award-winning tea in our café. They import natural and pure tea directly from the tea farms themselves. By cutting out the middlemen, they ensure that those who grow the tea get their fair share, that the tea is produced under good working conditions and that we get to serve world-class quality tea!

 

Spor av Nord is furnished with beautiful findings from Blomquist, Finn.no, Lauritz and other thrift stores. We have obtained a retailer's license and most of the furniture are for sale. Old pieces of furniture often hold a completely different quality new ones and is well suited for reuse.

The location at the intersection of Tollbugata/Skippergata is part of an area that has been considered a rough neighborhood for the last decades. In the recent years, much has happened in these beautiful old quarters. Among other things, a number of art professionals have established themselves here, they cooperate and are called the Square Art Oslo District. The Opera is a few minutes away. We are proud neighbors of the Church City Mission which is just across the street from us. "Post-Covid-19" we see even more people than before who need a little help in mastering everyday life. Our customers can – if they want to – contribute directly to the Church City Mission's important work. All factors combined give an exciting metropolitan feel. The district is changing, and we want to contribute to it.
